What this test checks
- Whether the browser can open a camera
- Live video stream
- Actual video width and height reported by the browser
- Measured frame rate when frame callbacks are supported
- Available camera selection after permission is granted
How this test works
- Select Start test and allow camera permission.
- Confirm the live preview is visible and moving.
- Check the reported resolution and frame rate.
- Switch cameras if multiple devices are available, then retest.
If the test does not behave as expected
- If permission is blocked, restore camera permission for this site and restart the test.
- If the preview is black or frozen, close other apps or browser tabs that may be using the camera, then retest.
- If the wrong camera opens, choose another camera after permission has been granted.
- Low resolution or frame rate can come from browser settings, drivers, lighting, or another app. Compare with the system camera app or another browser before assuming hardware failure.
Note: Resolution and FPS are objective browser observations. This tool does not assign an arbitrary overall camera-quality score.
